It is our great pleasure to invite you and your students to the 16th International Seminar of PhD Students on Organometallic and Coordination Chemistry. The Seminar will be held from the 17th until the 21st of October 2015, in Lichtenfels (Schloss Schney), a village located in Franconia. The conference site is the ‘Franken Akademie – Schloss Schney’ in the outskirts of Lichtenfels and about 20 km north of the beautiful city of Bamberg. Lichtenfels has access to highway A73 and excellent rail connection by fast trains (ICE).
The seminars have been organized since 1993 as an alternating series in Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and Austria. The aim of the Seminar is to offer young chemists an opportunity to learn how to present their results in a foreign language as oral communication, which is very difficult to achieve at big international conferences. The official language will be English. The program of the conference will consist of two or three plenary lectures, two or three invited “young chemist” lectures and 15-minute communications given by PhD students. Please, notice that a poster session will not be organised. The role of group leaders attending the seminar will be to stimulate discussions, but we expect that the main activity will be on students’ side. Evenings in a bar and other social events will be, as usual, important parts of the Seminar.
The participant fee of 260 Euro (double room) or of 300 Euro (single room) covers the seminar fee as well as the accommodation (four nights), breakfast, lunch and dinner. We expect that at least one of the participants from each group will present an oral presentation, but also younger students are welcome to take part, just to learn and feel the atmosphere of the conference.
We are looking forward to seeing you and your students in Lichtenfels in October 2015.
